About: Sage is a hardy herb that grows worldwide. Its name comes from the Latin verb “salvare,” which translates as “to heal” or “to save.” It has a long history as both a culinary and medicinal herb and is still used as a cure-all daily tea in Greece and other countries around the Mediterranean. Sage essential oil is not intended for use with young children, the elderly, or pregnant women. For these populations, use a hydrosol or the whole herb.
Common Uses: Sage essential oil can be added to household cleaning products to cleanse surfaces and freshen the air with its scent. It can also be added to formulas for promoting healthy immunity.
Blending Recommendations: Sage’s earthy, herbal scent is a middle note that blends well with woody, minty, and conifer essential oils.
